BUILDING - WIEN HALL
SCOPE OF WORK - BALUSTRADE REPAIR
OWNER - COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
STATUS - COMPLETED
ROLE - PROJECT ARCHITECT
Originally built in 1925 by McKim, Mead and White, Wien Hall serves as undergraduate housing for Columbia University. We were initially hired for a routine inspection. During said inspection I noticed some severe safety hazards with the stone railing and balustrade. As a result scope was increased and to include balustrade redesign and repair.
As Project Architect my duties included:
Site surveying, cost estimation, specification creation, design of the repair details, drafting the construction documents, and construction administration.
