CRITIC - Fred Biehle

The Herman Melville Museum is a multifaceted project that was designed using Melville's "Moby Dick" as a source of inspiration.

The museum is broken up into a Library, Chapel. and Walkway.

The Library acts as the Museum's main attraction. It is subdivided into three spaces: The Information Center, The  Archive, and The Stacks.

The Chapel is a space for self reflection in a quiet, nondenominational space.

The Walkway is a two-level bifurcating strand that weaves throughout and stiches everything together.
